Crafted in Dunedin by Tracy-lee Fisher, Creatures by Fish are quirky, soulful characters born from childhood memories, children’s storybooks and a love of the wonderfully unusual.

Each Creature is lovingly handmade from refurbished clothing, old woollen blankets and a mix of new and vintage fabrics, giving every one its own character, history and charm. No two are alike.

With their expressive, hand-stitched faces, these whimsical, softly dark characters seem both familiar and strange. Some are playful, some melancholic, and all carry a little piece of life’s emotions in their imperfect expressions.

Each Creature is created slowly and individually, with its own personality waiting to be discovered. Imperfect, soulful and made to be loved, these are creatures to cherish and bring joy.

Meet Vera! We love her, Vera is made of recycled fabrics and is filled with merino wool.

Housekeepers is led by Sally-Ann Donnelly, whose eye for design and instinct for what works has shaped the store from the beginning.
